Biești and Satul Nou signed the Grant Agreement within the partnership with the MĂ IMPLIC Project

The signing of the Agreement is a result of the joint work of the Community Initiative Teams and the Municipalities, which together with the citizens, make joint efforts to improve the communal water supply service, with the support of MĂ IMPLIC Project.  Under the agreement, each partner-municipality receives a grant of a maximum of 65,000 Swiss francs, for carrying out the works and/or procuring the necessary equipment, for the realization of the project.

According to the project in Biești village, an additional water collection station will be built and a local water well will be rehabilitated, also in Satul Nou village, the water collection and pumping station will be improved and the water storage tanks will be replaced.

In addition to financial support, beneficiaries receive consultancy and capacity-building services. The “MĂ IMPLIC” project helps the municipality and the service provider not only to improve the infrastructure but also to develop long-term approaches to keep this infrastructure in good shape and to have sustainable models for financing the provision of services. In our work, we ensure that local citizens, LPA employees, NGOs, and businesses are actively involved in modernizing community services in the community and especially that the less advantaged have equal access to these services.

The project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by SKAT Consulting.

The e-platform for local government is officially launched

The e-platform for local government is officially launched

On May 24, 2022, the Congress of Local Authorities from Moldova officially presented the E-Platform for Local Government, developed with the support of the MĂ IMPLIC Project. The platform offers training courses and online support services for local LPA representatives and service operators. At the same time, the e-platform provides beneficiaries with a structured set of resources (normative acts, guides, reports, etc.) and other online tools related to the LPA activity.

The event was opened by Viorel Furdui (Executive Director of CALM), followed by Matthias Morgner (team leader of the project MĂ IMPLIC), Cătălina Scorțescu (Administrator of the platform), Diana Toma (National Reforms and Policies Manager, MĂ IMPLIC Project), Alexandru Palii, (e-platform IT consultant), Carolina Furdui (e-platform online consultant).

“Through this platform we will be able to reach a much larger number of LPA representatives, counselors, civil servants, etc. We will be able to inform them in useful terms about the changes in the legislation, to train those who have this need, and as a result of this cooperation, the people in our communities will receive better services, and the localities will have more opportunities to develop”, according to the executive director of CALM Viorel Furdui.

“Creating the platform was a necessity, the pandemic showed us that we have to embrace online tools and make them part of our daily activity. It is a suitable tool and I hope it will be useful and indispensable for LPA representatives and service providers. The platform is more than an information delivery tool. The platform presented today is not in its final version, it will develop, new content will appear, but this requires the participation and active involvement of users. I sincerely congratulate the team that worked on the creation of the platform and wish them much success in maintaining and developing it”, said Matthias Morgner, team leader of the MĂ IMPLIC project.

“We hope that this tool will also be of interest to other donors and development partners, that’s why we invite them to contribute to the development of training activities, but also to the enrichment of the content on the platform,” said Diana Toma, National Reforms and Policies Manager, MĂ IMPLIC project.

The presentation event covered the following topics: How to register/log in on the E-platform, How to request support on the E-platform. Also speakers launched the invitation to the First Online Course on the platform: “Local public administration: place, role and legal status”, which will start on June 13. This course is designed for mayors, local councilors, secretaries of local councils, other civil servants in municipalities, as well as specialists in related fields.
